To add a payment method for RedotPay P2P, open the app, tap More, then P2P, then Profile, then Payment Method, and tap Add Payment Method. Pick a common option or browse all payment methods, enter the details such as your bank account information, submit, and finish two-factor authentication (RedotPay help center, 5 August 2026). One rule matters more than any step: RedotPay's P2P terms require the account owner name on every payment method to be identical to the name on your RedotPay account, and RedotX Panama can suspend or end P2P access if it is not.

Issuance tip: RedotPay 20% off promo code RDVIR ($10 to $8 when accepted).

The steps come from RedotPay's help center and the rules from its P2P terms, which we read on 2026-10-21. The terms page shows no effective date, only a 2026 copyright line. Where RedotPay's articles say nothing, we say so.

How do I add a payment method to RedotPay P2P?

RedotPay's setup article (5 August 2026) gives these steps:

  1. Open the RedotPay app and tap More, then P2P.
  2. Tap Profile in the navigation bar, then Payment Method.
  3. Tap Add Payment Method. Choose a commonly used option, or tap All Payment Methods to browse more.
  4. Fill in the details. The article gives bank account information as its example and does not list every required field.
  5. Tap submit, then complete two-factor authentication. The method is then available for P2P transactions.

The article does not say how many payment methods you can add, how to edit one or how to delete one.

Why must the payment account name match my RedotPay name?

RedotPay's P2P Marketplace terms, issued by RedotX Panama, say in clause 72.3 that each party must have a payment method whose account owner name is identical to the name on their RedotPay account, as confirmed during identity verification. Using a payment method under a different name is prohibited, and RedotX Panama reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to P2P if it finds one. In practice this means a spouse's, employer's or friend's account will not work, even if the money is yours. The setup article does not mention the rule, so check it before you add an account.

The same rule protects sellers. RedotPay's P2P scam article (5 August 2026) tells sellers to make sure the payer's name matches the name verified on RedotPay and not to accept payments from third-party accounts. Clause 72.6 of the terms makes the seller solely responsible for verifying that the full fiat payment arrived before clicking Confirm release, and recommends releasing within 15 minutes of receiving it.

What should I check before my first P2P trade?

This part is our view and not RedotPay's. Add the payment method in your own verified name, check that the name on the bank or e-wallet account matches your RedotPay identity exactly, and make a small first trade. If you also plan to use P2P to fund a card, see how to get a virtual card.

Our own use

Rosa Xie, who runs this site, tops up through local P2P. One top-up took about an hour because the seller was slow to confirm. This is one person's experience, and the setup steps and rules above come from RedotPay's own pages.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I add a payment method to RedotPay P2P?
RedotPay's help center says to open the app, tap More, then P2P, tap Profile, choose Payment Method and tap Add Payment Method. Pick a common option or open All Payment Methods, fill in the details such as your bank account information, tap submit and finish two-factor authentication. The method is then available for P2P trades.
Can I use someone else's bank account for RedotPay P2P?
No. RedotPay's P2P terms require every payment method to have an account owner name identical to the name on your RedotPay account, as confirmed in identity verification. Using a method under a different name is prohibited, and RedotX Panama can suspend or end your P2P access if it finds one. Its scam guide also says not to accept payments from third-party accounts.
How many payment methods can I add, and can I edit or delete them?
RedotPay's setup article does not say. It gives no limit on the number of methods and no steps for editing or deleting one, so look in the Payment Method screen of the app or ask support.
Why is my P2P purchase locked for 24 to 48 hours?
The P2P terms say you may face a waiting period of 24 to 48 hours before withdrawing digital assets you bought on P2P if you traded certain fiat currencies, as RedotX Panama decides at its sole discretion. The period starts when the assets are released to you, and your other trading is not affected. The terms do not list the currencies.
Who pays the transfer fee on a P2P trade?
The P2P terms say the buyer bears the fees charged by the payment provider for the fiat transfer, unless the seller agrees otherwise, so the buyer should pay enough that the seller receives the full amount. RedotPay's articles show a 0 fees label on the buy and sell buttons and give no other fee schedule.
